Executive Producer, Senior Producer
Hoda Elatawi has been producing award-winning films and television in Canada and internationally for over two decades. Her passion for history, social issues, education, and the arts has united her with like-minded producers and writers from around the world and allowed her to work on a diverse range of television projects.
Hoda has created and produced award-winning concepts in the children's and factual programming genres. She has collaborated with and produced for most Canadian broadcasters, with work that is also showcased internationally. From doc series to biopics, from specials to unscripted dramas, she brings a depth and unique perspective to all that she produces, working with teams across the country and around the world. Her degree in journalism from Carleton University, Canada, has given Hoda strong research skills and a love of storytelling that strives to be compelling, authentic and accessible to broad audiences.
Recently, Hoda has completed production of an award-winning children's TV and digital series, MathXplosion, for TVOkids and TFO, along with a complementary interactive game, Magic Math Glasses. Hoda has also finished a social issue doc for the documentary Channel, Muneeza in the Middle--this multi-award-winning film is the inspiration for her new film, So You Want to be a Muslim? , a doc in development with the CBC. Hoda is also in development on Wild Stars, a natural history series for Animal Planet among a number of other projects. For all projects, Hoda is responsible for developing concepts, pitching, overseeing funding, production, post and distribution.
Ken Stewart is the President and co-founder of GAPC (General Assembly Production Centre), one of Canada’s most comprehensive audio, video and multimedia production centres, and the parent company to GAPC Entertainment Inc., founded in 1999.
Ken’s has a 30 + year background in the broadcast sector. He has worked as a cameraman, editor, technical producer, technical director, director, executive producer, teacher and advisor. He has been interviewed and featured in a number of industry and commercial publications, and has written numerous articles on production.
On a regular basis Ken will be involved as Executive Producer as well as Producer, overseeing all aspects of productions from a financial as well as creative and technical perspective. His strong knowledge of marketing & communications and the technology of both traditional media and new media production and delivery, ensures that the process and end result meet and exceed expectations of funders and partners alike.
Development and Production
As a veteran of the industry, Kelly drives content from conception through completion. She helps develop projects, creates strategy, puts together a cost-effective production, and delivers high quality content that achieves its full potential.
With two decades of her experience based within the Toronto industry she brings strong logistic and organizational skills, outstanding attention to detail and effective troubleshooting approaches to her work and her teams. Her experience ranges from documentaries, co-productions, lifestyle, challenge-based reality, corporate, digital, live to air and scripted drama. She’s a Jane of all trades and is willing to plunge into any situation that requires skilled producing, budgeting, scheduling, logistics and personnel management.
Kate Keating is one of our talented and prolific freelance writers. For Kate, the craft of writing is about connecting with an audience and breathing life into words and ideas. From history documentaries to whimsical kids shows about math to corporate and government communications, Kate has two decades of experience working on broadcast productions and communications projects. She enjoys the challenge of expressing complex ideas in clear and engaging ways, and has prepared scripts, treatments, songs, reports, magazine-style articles, web content, and radio and stage plays about topics ranging from civil rights, spies, and the history of magic to health care, bamboo, and the hijab. No matter the format, a well written piece should resonate and help people feel and understand what the story’s all about!
