Award-Winning Children’s Television Show Launches 2 Educational Games
Who knew math could be so much fun!
OTTAWA, December 2013 - GAPC Entertainment is thrilled to be working with award-winning game developerToboggan Studios and TVOKids, to create two brand new children's games to complement The Prime Radicals, apopular mathematics television series on TVOKids. As with the series, the two games, Prime Radicals:Pentominoes and Prime Radicals: Snowflakes, will be aimed primarily at children ages 6-8 years old, but alsopromise to deliver hours of fun for the entire family.
Scheduled for a December 16 launch, the apps will be out just in time for the holidays, where parents and children can download them for free for iOS and Android devices or online at tvokids.com, and enjoy many educational andengaging activities from building an awesome PentoTower, to creating exquisite snowflake patterns…all the while,learning about geometry, spatial orientation, reflection, and symmetry.

Both games - which were developed in conjunction with content expert - Dr. Lynda Colgan, Associate Professor, Faculty of Education at Queen’s University, use similar mathematics principles found in the TV series. They will be available to educators for use in the classroom, and will provide hours of instructive and engaging fun. “TVOKids is delighted to work with GAPC and Toboggan to extend and reinforce the learning from a great educational program like The Prime Radicals with the new online and mobile math games Prime Radicals:

Prime Radicals: Pentominoes sports three different games, and over 2000 solutions for this series of geometry puzzles.
Prime Radicals: Snowflakes is a digital update of the classic craft of creating snowflakes from folded pieces of paper. In this game children will create and decorate beautiful snowflakes to show off to their family and friends, as well as test their skills in a snowflake challenge.
Both games, which will be available for iOS and Android devices and online at tvokids.com, have been developed with the participation of the Bell Broadcast and New Media Fund, TVO, GAPC Entertainment and Toboggan Studios.
